Dear Dermatology Colleague,
I hope you had an enjoyable summer. We are planning a full year of events which will start in September at the Washington Hospital Center. Once again, the yearly dues will remain the same and prompt payment is appreciated. Application information is available on our website.
As everyone is well aware, there are many changes ahead in healthcare. The AAD has set up a link on its website to update members (www.aad.org/gov/index.html). If there are any concerns or issues with which the Society might be able to help, please bring them up at meetings or contact one of the Executive Committee members.
We are still awaiting final notification regarding sponsorship of our CME credit from the Washington Hospital Center. I would like to thank Dr. Alan Moshell for all of his work on behalf of the Society despite multiple procedural setbacks. The issue of retroactive CME credit has yet to be clarified. Other avenues have been explored regarding CME sponsorship but the costs are much greater.
The Society was able to award two grants this past year to present original research at dermatology meetings. We encourage further applications. Information is available on our website.
Please feel free to contact any of the Executive Committee members or Ms. Janiece Jones, our administrator, with any concerns.
We look forward to a good 2009-2010 year.
