Dear Colleagues,
I am honored to begin the new academic year as your Washington DC Dermatological Society President. It is my pleasure to welcome new and returning members to the society. I would like to thank Dr. Hyland Cronin, our outgoing president, for her great effort and dedication to lead our society.
This year promises to be an exciting one as the pandemic restrictions lessen and we can potentially bring some in-person and hybrid events. The 2023-2024 calendar is already lined-up with outstanding meetings and continuing medical education opportunities.
In collaboration with the current and new academic leaders in town, we have already confirmed excellent and exciting speakers for our meetings including Dr. Steven Chen on September 21st. We also plan on hosting the Resident Appreciation Dinner.
We will be continuing our support of the scholarship program. With grants up to $2,500, all members and residents are encouraged to submit their project’s proposal for evaluation to the Research Committee. The applications have been sparse so we strongly encourage all applications to be submitted. The deadlines for submission are October 1st and April 1st.
As we all know, membership dues are an important component of our finances. The link for payment dues can be found in the Membership tab on the society website.
Last but not least, after a three-year pause, I would like to re-introduce our social event to be held in November. This will be a great opportunity to meet old colleagues and give a warm welcome to our new members, residents, and faculty in town.
