Business Meeting

The meeting was called to order at: 7:00 pm
I. Committee Reports
A. Advocacy: Members are receiving a periodic email with the updates from the AAD Advisory Board Committee activities provided by Sara Brooks, M.D. (DC Derm representative). Thank you to Dr. Kelly Redbord for her prior service.
B. Scholarship Program
a. Scholarship Committee 2021-2022: Dr. Maral Skelsey (chair), Rosemarie Liu, Jennifer DeSimone and Benjamin Lockshin.
b. Ten thousand dollars has been ear marked for scholarships and grants. Applications are due by October 1, 2021 and April 1, 2022
C. Dues
a. Please pay your dues on line at www.dcdermsociety.com and click on Membership. INOVA registration fee will be paid by the society as long as dues and membership are current.
II. New Business
A. Thank you to Dr. Samantha Toerge for all her hard work and dedication to the society last year while serving as the President of the society. Her plaque is being mailed to her.
B. Membership applications for Dr. Klint Peebles, Dr. Castello-Soccio and Dr. Neelam Khan are presented, voted on and approved for membership.
III. Thank you to all the residents and faculty at Washington Hospital Center for preparing the conference today.
IV. The invited speaker for the meeting is: Boris D. Lushniak, MD, MPH, board certified dermatologist, Professor and Dean University of Maryland School of Public
Key Note Presentation – “Public Health and Dermatology”
V. CME: The society member attendants will receive 2.75 CME credits for the meeting. CME’s will be awarded to your WHC CME account according to the ZOOM attendee’s log. Please DO NOT attempt to text in for credit it will not work.
VI. Academic Calendar for year 2021-2022 has been emailed.
