September 16, 2014 Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order at 7:15PM.

I.          Committee Reports

1. Advocacy Committee:  Dr. Redbord announced that the AAD legislative meeting is taking place shortly in DC and that the meeting is a key opportunity for dermatologists to affect changes to policies related to dermatology.

1. Social Committee:  Dr. Krivda thanked the social committee members, Drs. Anatelli and Reece, for their efforts in putting on a successful BBQ event this past summer for DC dermatology members and their families.

1. Website Development Committee:  Dr. Lockshin discussed the website update for the community and for dermatologists. The “charge” is to create a “database” for the various services and equipment that are available, collectively.

II.         Old Business: None

III.        New Business:

1. Dr. Krivda welcomed members and opened the meeting by presenting the past president of the Society, Ben Lockshin, with a plaque thanking him for his work and commitment
2. New membership applications were presented for Anne E. Rothman, M.D. ,  Dominique Pichard, M.D and Jorge Toro, M.D.  voting into membership will take place at the next meeting.
3. Next Atlantic Dermatology Conference, Philadelphia April 24-26, 2015 http://atlanticdermconference.org/

Next meeting scheduled for Saturday October 25, 2014 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital.
