September 11, 2012 Meeting Minutes

Call to Order at 7:16pm

I. Minutes – Minutes from the Tuesday June 5th 2012 meeting were approved.

II. Old Business – DC Derm Website is being updated by Ben Lockshin .

III.  90th Atlantic Dermatological Conference April 12-14, 2013. A save the date postcard was mailed to all members within the last 2 weeks.  Many of our DC Derm members are working hard to ensure it will be a great meeting.

IV. New Business –

1. New President  Maral Skelsey noted that she is working towards expanding dermatologic volunteer opportunities to help attend the underserved  portion of our DC Metro area. More information to follow in the coming months.
2. The executive committee met and raised annual membership dues to $200 per year as the DC Derm Society budget had a shortfall of $5,000 last year and expenditures are increasing – example new $2,500 fee per year for CME accreditation. More to follow on the dues issue next meeting.
3. New Advocacy Committee – Kelley Redbord is chair. Contact her to volunteer.
4. Dr. Skelsey presented immediate past president Dr. Alison Ehrlich with an award for outstanding service during the 2011-2012 year. Dr. Ehrlich will continue to serve as the 90th ADC Conference coordinator.

V. Treasurer’s report – see attached budget.
