The meeting was called to order at: 9:30
I. Committee Reports
A. SOCIAL – Dr. Hendi thanked the members for attending the DC Derm Social event “Holiday Happy Hour” that took place at Range Restaurant on November 16th. – With a very successful turnout, members were enthusiastic of having this event on annual basis.
B. SCHOLARSHIPS – Dr. Hendi reminded the deadlines for the Scholarship applications –For the 2017-2018 year, Ten thousand dollars has been ear marked for scholarships and grants. Applications are due by October 1 and April 1.
II. New Business
A. The membership applications for Dr. Noelle Starr Sherber and Dr. Anita Iyer were unanimously accepted into the society.
B. The application on Dr’s Megan Jamison, Susan Canning, Thomas Adrian, Randa Khoury and Ali Damavandy were presented for membership. They will be voted on at the next meeting
III. Dr. Hendi presented the speaker of the day:
Chris Miller, M.D., Director of Dermatologic Surgery, Penn Dermatology Oncology Center, Associate Professor of Dermatology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
IV. The next DC Dermatological Society meeting will be the Resident Appreciation and Competition Dinner on Thursday March 22, 2018 at Maggiano’s in Washington, D.C. from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
