Business Meeting Minutes – Saturday, December 1, 2018

The meeting was called to order at:9:35am

I. Committee Reports

A. Scholarship

a. A grant awarded to Dr Emily Murphy for Sensitization of human squamous cell carcinoma to cisplatin chemotherapy and anti-EGFR therapy by targeting p38α and p38δ kinases, was announced.
b. Small grants are still available. Residents, students as well as attending physicians were encouraged to apply. Next application deadline is due by April 1, 2019

B. Advocacy:
a. No updates

C. CME credits: Credits for this meeting were awarded through Washington Hospital Center CME.

II. New Business

A. The membership application for Elinor Quay Coyne, M.D. was voted on and approved

B. The members were encouraged to pay their dues to support the Society. Membership Application: Payment online option: https://www.dcdermsociety.com/membership-application/

III. Dr. Anatelli thanked all WRNMMC and NIH Residents and all contributing physicians for the interesting clinical cases presented.

IV. The speakers of the day were: Isaac Brownell, M.D., Ph.D. and Thomas Darling, M.D. Ph.D.

IV. The next DC Dermatological Society meeting was announced for Tuesday evening, February 05, 2019, at Maggiano’s, Washington, DC, The Resident Appreciation and Competition Dinner, Residents will present interesting clinical cases for the competition. 1st prize is $500 2nd prize is $300 and third prize is $200
