I. Committee Reports
A. Advocacy:
Information on potential changes in Global payment periods and CMS conducting a data gathering survey were addressed. The article “How you can help avoid catastrophic cuts to dermatology” in Dermatology News was briefly presented. The members will receive an email with additional resources about potential changes in reimbursement.
II. New Business
A. Membership application was voted on Maithily Nandedkar, M.D. who was unanimously accepted into the society.
B. Membership application for Yelana Frankel, M.D. was presented and will be voted on at the next meeting.
C. Reminded the upcoming Altantic Derm Conference May 5-7, 2017 in Toronto, ON, Canada.
III. The speaker for the meeting was Brian B. Adams, M.D., M.P.H., Professor and Drs. Mutasim, Gloster, Jr. & Claassen Endowed Chair of Dermatology, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
IV. Dr. Hendi announced that the Skin Cancer Foundation will be coming to Wasghington DC on June 15-16th to perform free skin cancer screening and it is looking for volunteers. They are offering free membership for a year.
V. The next Washington DC Dermatology meeting will take place on Tuesday May 16th, 2017 at Howard University Hospital.
