National Institutes of Health at Suburban Hospital

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm.
I. Committee Reports
A. Social: Dr. Anatelli announced that the next social event with be a happy hour or picnic in the fall as a Welcome Back/Welcome Residents event. Details to follow.
B. Advocacy: Dr. Redbord encouraged members to attend and sign up for the Legislative conference in September. Brief updates on current advocacy issues including APM and MACRA, step therapy, and compounding. The VA Health System is allowing Advanced Practice Nurses to practice independently. The AMA does not support this and instead supports the physician-led model.
II. New Business
A. Dr. Florencia Anatelli was unanimously approved for Secretary-Treasurer for next year.
B. Dr. Redbord thanked Dr. Ali Hendi and Dr. Suraj Venna and John Garza for their service and hard work this year. Dr. Redbord thanked the DC Dermatological Society for allowing her to lead this tremendous organization.
C. Caroline Yeager, M.D. was presented for new membership. Voting will take place at the next meeting.
III. Invited speakers tonight are James Yang, M.D., Brian Brooks, M.D., Constantine Stratakis, M.D., and William Gahl, M.D., Ph.D.
The next DC Dermatological meeting will take place in September at the Washington Hospital Center.
